Kerri Taylor, a native of Brundidge, Alabama, is preparing to enter her fifth year in Dale County Schools. Prior to joining the staff at Ariton School and G.W. Long Elementary and High Schools, she served as a High School Head Director of Bands and an Elementary Music Specialist. Her principal instrument is Trumpet, but she has ensemble experience in Voice, Percussion, Saxophone, Clarinet, and French Horn. Ms. Taylor graduated from Troy University in the Spring of 2006 with a Bachelor's of Music Education degree with an emphasis in instrumental music education. She participated in many ensembles, both instrumental and vocal, as well as the Musical Theatre program during her time at Troy and served as Principal Trumpet for the Symphonic Band in Fall of 2005. Ms. Taylor also served as a section leader for the Trumpet section of the nationally renowned "Sound of the South" Marching Band. While enrolled at Troy, Ms. Taylor also served as the Third Trumpet for the Music South Symphony Orchestra in Dothan, Alabama. After completing undergraduate studies, Ms. Taylor was honored to serve as a Graduate Assistant for the "Sound of the South" during her studies towards a master's degree in Music Education. Since completing both a bachelor's and master's degree at Troy University, Ms. Taylor also received her Education Specialist degree in Collaborative Education, with an emphasis in Special Education Policy, from Auburn University of Montgomery in Fall 2018. Ms. Taylor has since served as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, Collaborative Educator, and a Resource Special educator for students with individualized learning needs. Ms. Taylor is currently enrolled at Auburn University in the Ph.D. program for Administration of Elementary and Secondary Schools. Ms. Taylor is a member of several professional organizations including: Sigma Alpha Iota: International Music Fraternity for Women, Tau Beta Sigma: Honorary Band Sorority, Omicron Delta Kappa: Leadership Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi: International Honor Society in Education, and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
